Jemma + Chris’s vintage/rockabilly wedding – 17 October 2015.
Where was your wedding: The Barn, Flagstone Creek Rd, Flagstone Creek – just 10 minutes outside Toowoomba
Style: Vintage/rockabilly & VERY laid back
Something old: My husbands late mother’s charm bracelet from when she was 16 & my great great grandmothers wedding ring.
Why did we choose the venue: We wanted something that suited us & portrayed us as a couple. Upon driving down to The Barn the surroundings are so relaxing & peaceful. The best thing was we didn’t want to change a single thing about the decor of The Barn, it’s rustic & has very vintage memorabilia with a rockabilly twist which made our wedding that extra special. Having Scotty’s Garage to entertain our guests & let them spend the evening exploring the museum & diner made the evening more fun.
Walked down the isle to: Better Together- Jack Johnson
Something that happened at the ceremony: Whilst the ceremony was happening we realised that my MOH (Maid of Honour) had left my husbands ring in her clutch, that was still in the wedding car. We had to ask the photographer to sneak off & grab it, she slid it across the floor to my MOH & not a single person knew it had even happened.
Why did we chose the reception venue: We had our ceremony & reception at the same venue, less hassle for everyone.
First dance song: Stolen Dance Cover By Asgeir
Honeymoon: We haven’t been on ours yet. We are madly saving to go to America so we can explore & eat!
Words of Wisdom: Stress less ladies/gents! This is meant to be the happiest day of your life so take a big breath & enjoy every moment of it because the day just flashes before your eyes. Smile & just remember this is the day you chose to be with your best friend forever 🙂
P.S Don’t forget the tissues
